Andrea Bryant Smith is the mother of Ashantae, Ashley & Octavia and a grandmother to 7. A native of East side Jacksonville, she graduated from Andrew Jackson High school and the Culinary Arts Program from Florida State College. Andrea holds multiple Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certifications including the Certified Storm water Inspector credential. As a former Environmental/Petroleum Remediation Specialist & a Community Outreach Specialist, Andrea worked to educate the community about soil & water contaminants, & remediation solutions for Superfund and brownfield sites.
The award winning pastry chef, Andrea, is a former pastry chef of the Jacksonville Jaguars & Cafe Carmen, and current owner of Too Nice to Slice, an organic pastry and snack company in Jacksonville, FL. As a chef with experience working in the environmental & health care industries she knows the important of equitable access to healthy choices and works daily to combat food insecurity locally. Andrea is a member of the City of Jacksonville Mayors Task force on homelessness & the founder of Circle of Caring- Sweet purpose (Circle of Caring Jax). Circle of Caring Jax is a sustainable non-profit dedicated to helping children & families, by providing educational resources and mostly organic food, rescued from local farms & grocery stores to divert food waste & improve food security in communities. Andrea hosts weekly food giveaways & cooks/ delivers meals to the elderly and sick and shut-in members of Jacksonville. Their, Canning for A Cause infinitive is the 1st known non-profits to use canning/ preserving of surplus produce & composting to reduce waste for hurricane Prep.
